All keys lost? We start again, on-site
If every key to your vehicle has gone - lost, stolen or never had one - East & Co cuts and codes a fresh set at your car in Scunthorpe and within about 25 miles, and erases the old keys so they can't start it again. No towing. 24/7.
All keys lost, fixed without a tow
An all-keys-lost situation is the most involved key job there is - there's no working key to copy from, so the whole set has to be created from scratch and the vehicle taught to recognise it. It sounds daunting, but a mobile auto locksmith can do the entire job at the car, where it sits, in a single visit. No recovery truck, no dealership waiting room, no leaving the car somewhere overnight.
Because there's no key to prove access, ownership checks matter more than ever. We'll need your V5C logbook and photo ID before we begin - this is what keeps a stolen car from being keyed, and it's the legal, honest way to work.
What the job involves
- 1
Call & quote
Make, model, year, reg and location. We quote and head out.
- 2
Verify ownership
V5C and photo ID checked - non-negotiable on this job.
- 3
Decode the locks
We read the lock code to cut a key that fits, with no original.
- 4
Cut the new key(s)
Fresh blade(s) cut to your vehicle.
- 5
Code & programme
Transponder and remote coded so the engine starts.
- 6
Erase the lost keys
Old keys removed from memory so they can't start the car.
Why we erase the old keys: if your keys were stolen, a working stolen key is a way straight back into your car. Erasing them from the vehicle's memory is the clean way to close that door. We'll always offer this on an all-keys-lost job.
It's not cheap - but it's complete
An all-keys-lost job is more involved than a spare or a single replacement, and that's reflected in the price. The upside is you walk away with a full, working set and the old keys neutralised - done properly, once, at your car. Call us for an honest quote before we set off; there's no charge for the quote itself.

Service-specific FAQs
What's the difference between lost keys and all keys lost?
'Lost keys' usually means you've lost one but still have another. 'All keys lost' means every key to the vehicle is gone - so the job starts from scratch, cutting and coding a brand-new set with no working key to copy from.
Can the old, lost keys still start my car afterwards?
No - not once we've erased them. As part of an all-keys-lost job we erase the lost keys from the vehicle's memory and code in a fresh set, so the old keys can no longer start the engine. This is the right move if keys were stolen or you're worried who has them.
Do I need the car towed anywhere?
No. We do the whole job at the vehicle, wherever it is - home, work or roadside. That's the main advantage over a main dealer, who would usually need the car recovered to them.
What proof do you need that the car is mine?
The V5C logbook (or a clear photo of it) and photo ID that matches it. This is essential on an all-keys-lost job and protects genuine owners. We won't start without it.
